Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Development & Communications is responsible for leading parish stewardship efforts and developing long-term relationships with parishioners, business leaders, and benefactors to financially support and sustain the work of the Church at the parish. This will include coordinating and expanding the parish’s regular stewardship efforts, planned giving programs, and endowment activities as well as directing all parish and archdiocesan campaigns. The Director of Development & Communications is responsible also for maintaining the parish database and coordinating and implementing all communications to the parish and local community through various media formats.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic understanding of the principles and practices of fundraising and development
Experience with database management and/or donor software
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Design, layout, and graphic skills
Organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
Media savvy; ability to learn new software/platforms for communication
Collaborative team leader
Discretion and confidentiality

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an associated field (e.g., business, finance, development, marketing, communications)
Fundraising/development experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
Communications experience
The Director of Development & Communications is to be an active, practicing Catholic with a passion for making disciples for Jesus Christ. The individual must be living a life in harmony with the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
