Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare teaching schedule for teaching guidance to students and implement guidance lessons that align to our Catholic Faith, PBIS, Boystown Social Skills, and Second Step.

Develop and maintain guidance curriculum and ensure compliance to standards and provide expert knowledge on same.

Coordinate with family support, principals, and school staff to develop and implement various activities and provide support to all activities.

Analyze all student requirements and prepare formal lessons for all students and provide support to all academic activities.

Analyze all student data and prepare programs and activities to provide support for students social emotional needs.

Prepare and implement small group, lunch bunches, and individual counseling sessions and ensure achievement of all goals associated with these.

Participate in various guidance sessions with students and ensure growth of students

Assist students with all social emotional requirements and prepare various counseling and intervention strategies for all students.

Provide training to all staff members and parents and update knowledge on all development requirements of students as it relates to social emotional needs and opportunities.

Maintain and ensure confidentiality of all information.

Consults, facilitates, and maintains communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and pertinent agents on specific student and parent academic and educational matters including academic modifications and/or accommodations.

Provides feedback and recommends appropriate action and solutions to individual student’s social emotional needs and abilities.

Participates on a Student Assistance Teams and the PBIS/MTSS Team, identifies students who may need targeted or intensive services, and coordinates with behavioral health specialists.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Desire and ability to work with students at the specified age level with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing social emotional growth, grit, and growth.

Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines and communicate effectively with students, parents, school administrators and other staff, including the ability to discuss topics which may be sensitive.

Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Counseling/Guidance, Education, or Social Work or the ability to attain a provisional certificate in this area

NE Teaching Certificate

Prior Classroom Teaching Experience.
