POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Intern
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Business Partner
EFFECTIVE DATE: May 1, 2020
POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt; Full-Time with Part-Time Flexibility

POSITION SUMMARY
Intern will assist the office in planning, implementation and analysis of projects in the Human Resource Office. Specific goals and objectives will be communicated to the intern at the beginning of their employment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Meet with the manager to determine the scope and time table for the project they are assigned
• Develop a project plan and communicate to the manager and director
• Actively work with the staff to plan and implement the project
• Keep the manager updated on the status of the project
• Receive continual feedback from the manager on the project status
• Collaborate with Organizational Development Intern to implement Strengths Finders in to new hire on-boarding process.
• Assist with organization and planning of annual Benefits & Wellness Fair
• The intern will assist in the implementation of modules the Archdiocese’s Human Resource Information System, including:
o Recruitment & staffing
o Performance management
o Benefits
• Other job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED)
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
• Strong knowledge related to human resource management
• Strong organization skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time productively and effectively
• Discretion and ability to keep knowledge gained from work in strict confidence
• Ability to represent the Archdiocese of Omaha in a professional manner
• Excellent technical skills based on the needs of the Human Resource department, including:
o Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
o Outlook
o Human Resource Information Systems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree or Area of Study: Human Resource Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business, or other related majors.
Year of Study: Junior or Senior

• Routine office environment; ADA-accessible building
• Requires sitting for the majority of work duration; involves typing and other repetitive movement

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• 10%; inter-campus travel
