Mary Our Queen, a PreK-8, NE and Cognia-accredited Catholic School, seeks a qualified Extended Care Director for the 2026-27 school year. The Extended Care Director is responsible for leading a high-quality before and after-school program that provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 3–13. This role oversees daily operations, supervises staff, and ensures compliance with all Nebraska DHHS licensing requirements while fostering a positive, faith-filled community. The Extended Care Director plays a vital role in supporting families and enriching the school community through a safe and joyful after-school experience.Principal Duties include:
-Plan, implement, and oversee a structured and engaging extended care program
-Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all students at all times
-Hire, train, schedule, and supervise extended care assistants
-Maintain compliance with Nebraska DHHS licensing standards and Archdiocesan policies
-Communicate effectively with parents, school administration, and staff
-Manage attendance, records, and program documentation
-Coordinate activities that promote creativity, play, homework support, and social development
-Model positive behavior and create a welcoming, respectful environment for all students
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe Extended Care Director will demonstrate:
-Ability to create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children
-Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
-Ability to supervise and support staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
-Required training hours for DHHS and the Archdiocese (Safe Environment Training)
-Pass a background check and meet all DHHS requirements
-Ability to follow directions and receive supportive feedback
-Enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to a fun and supportive work environment
Education and Experience
-Previous experience working with children required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred
-Background in education, child development, or a related field preferred
-Safe Environment certified or willing to complete training
