Principal Duties and Responsibilities
*Assist with lesson and activities, as determined by the classroom teacher, using developmentally appropriate and play-based practices.* Support early learning skills including language development, early literacy, and social emotional growth.
* Help guide students through daily routines such as arrival, transitions, snack, rest time, and dismissal.
* Organize classroom and prep work for the teacher.
* Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, and bulletin boards.
* Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
* Provide active supervision to ensure student safety in the classroom, playground, and during transitions.
* Assist with basic care needs while promoting student independence.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Provide instructional reinforcement of lesson plans under the direction of the classroom teacher.
* Serve as a positive, nurturing guide for students.
* Model the school's professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, staff, and community members.
* Supervise students in both instructional and assessment activities in and out of the classroom.
Education and Experience
* High School diploma or GED
* Experience working with students, preferred
* Effective communication skills with adults and children
* Understanding of basic principles of childhood development
*Must complete a background check and the Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environmental training
* Strong understanding of and commitment to living out the Catholic faith
