Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Alumnae Engagement & Advancement Operations provides strategic leadership for Mercy’s alumnae and community engagement efforts while overseeing the operational infrastructure that supports Advancement success. This role is responsible for strengthening alumnae relationships, growing participation in philanthropy, and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of the Advancement database.Strategic Alumnae & Community Engagement
● Develop and implement a comprehensive alumnae engagement strategy aligned with Advancement goals.
● Lead planning and execution of alumnae events, reunions, regional gatherings, and networking opportunities.
● Grow alumnae participation in giving, volunteerism, and leadership initiatives.
● Serve as primary relationship leader for alumnae volunteers, committees, and ambassador programs.
● Lead Mercy Day of Giving strategy and execution, with a focus on alumnae engagement and participation growth.
● Partner with Advancement colleagues to integrate alumnae strategy into annual giving, events, and major gift efforts.
● Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop alumnae-focused storytelling and content, including the
monthly Alumnae Newsletter and annual Mercian.
● Develop a dashboard of key alumnae activities which includes participation rates, connection to giving, and other relevant
outcomes.
● Establish/participate in a network with local/regional peers to identify and implement best practices.
Advancement Operations & Data Strategy
● Oversee the integrity and strategic use of Mercy’s donor database.
● Ensure accurate and timely processing of gifts, pledges, and matching contributions.
● Manage acknowledgment processes and tax receipt generation.
● Serve as internal expert for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and related reporting tools.
● Lead list segmentation and data analysis for appeals and engagement initiatives.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities● Experience managing donor databases; Raiser’s Edge NXT experience preferred.
● Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
● High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
● Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
● Strong writing and communication skills.
● Willingness to explore technology tools to assist with efficiency/effectiveness.
● Passion for Catholic education and Mercy’s mission.
● Demonstrated ability to work in diverse groups.
Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree required.
● 2-3 years of experience in alumni relations, nonprofit development, advancement operations, or related field.
● Demonstrated success building volunteer networks and increasing donor engagement.
● Experience managing donor databases; Raiser’s Edge NXT experience preferred.
Application Instructions
