Reports to: Jeanne Stover, Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

-Incorporate all standards established by the Archdiocese of Omaha and Nebraska Department of Education

-Plans and implements effective teaching with research-based pedagog

-Positively fosters students’ self-esteem

-Communicates with parents and school staff on student progress

-Assesses student learning and adapts instruction based on student data and needs

-Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve instructional effectiveness

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of Christ the King Catholic School

-Integrate Catholic faith, values, and traditions into classroom instruction and the overall school environment

-Demonstrate a strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate best practices

-Utilize effective classroom management strategies appropriate for preschool-aged children

-Design and implement play-based, hands-on learning experiences that support academic, social, and emotional growth

-Build positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues

-Show a strong commitment to Catholic education and actively support the mission of the Church

Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field required

-Early Childhood endorsement preferred

-Nebraska teaching certificate (or ability to obtain certification) required

-Safe Environment

-Practicing Catholic

-Previous preschool or early childhood teaching experience preferred
