Reports to: Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with early childhood standards and Catholic values
Integrate faith into daily instruction and model Christian virtues
Supervise and collaborate effectively with the classroom instructional paraprofessional
Delegate responsibilities appropriately to support student learning and classroom management
Support the social, emotional, and academic growth of each child
Use age-appropriate assessment tools to monitor student progress
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Maintain open, professional communication with parents and guardians
Collaborate with early childhood staff, elementary teachers, and administration
Supervise students during classroom, recess, lunch, and school activities
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Uphold all Archdiocese of Omaha policies and Safe Environment requirements

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with a classroom paraprofessional
Skill in classroom management appropriate for preschool-aged children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to actively support the mission of the Church
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to integrate play-based and hands-on learning strategies

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field required
Nebraska teaching certificate (or ability to obtain certification) required
Early Childhood endorsement preferred
Practicing Catholic preferred
Previous preschool or early childhood teaching experience preferred
