Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to design engaging, differentiated lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Deep understanding of child development and instructional best practices for 4th grade students.
- A warm and compassionate approach to teaching in a faith-based environment.
- Comfortable integrating technology into classroom instruction and using digital platforms for grading, communication, and collaboration.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Cecilia Cathedral School.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Implement engaging lessons aligned with Nebraska State Standards and the Archdiocese of Omaha curriculum.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to plan lessons and support differentiated learning.
- Create a faith-centered, inclusive, and structured classroom environment for students in 4th grade.
- Utilize assessments to inform instruction and provide regular academic updates to students and families.
- Foster a positive learning culture that emphasizes student growth, respectful behavior, and personal responsibility.
- Integrate Catholic values, virtues, and teachings into daily instruction and classroom management.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Participate in school-wide events, liturgies, professional development, and community-building activities.

Education and Experience
- Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate (preferred) or a Local Substitute Permit valid in the State of Nebraska.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required).
- Experience in upper elementary education is highly preferred.
