Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Patrick's in Elkhorn is seeking a full-time school counselor to serve our Pre-8th grade school.  Roles will include but are not limited to teaching Pre-8th grade guidance lessons, organizing and implementing need based small groups, and individual student support.   These roles will be divided between this full-time position and our part-time school counselor.   

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Knowledge of SEL and small groups
-Strong understanding of child and adolescent development across Preschool–8th grade
-Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administration
-Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
-Commitment to the mission, teachings, and values of the Catholic Church
-Ability to collaborate as part of a team
-Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills

Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree required; with a Master’s or certification in School Counseling or related field preferred
-Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students preferred
-Practicing Catholic
-Background check along with safe environment trained
