Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Pius X/St. Leo School is seeking a passionate, dedicated 5th grade teacher to join our faith-filled, diverse learning community for the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, nurturing the whole child, and supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Currently, the 5th-grade teacher is responsible for teaching ELA and Social Studies. This teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and administration to support student success.

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with curriculum standards
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Integrate Catholic values and teachings into daily instruction and classroom culture
Assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration
Participate in school liturgies, events, and professional development
Support the mission and philosophy of the Catholic Church and the school

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education (required)


Valid teaching license or ability to obtain one


Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred


Strong classroom management and communication skills


Commitment to Catholic education; practicing Catholic preferred


Enthusiastic, flexible, and collaborative mindset
