Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies requirements and ensures appropriate action is taken to meet the maintenance needs of the buildings and facilities of the Parish through a prioritized plan of work, which proactively prevents disruptive emergencies and allows for quick response to critical needs. The Parish facilities include a 4,875 ft2 main church building above grade with a side chapel, choir loft, and associated restrooms and sacristy; a 4,375 ft2 parish hall below the church building with a kitchen and associated restrooms, office, classroom, meeting room, work room, mechanical room, and storage rooms; exterior stairways, landscaped areas, and an off-street parking lot; and a total of four 2-bedroom residential units in two duplex buildings adjacent to the church building.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establishes and implements a program, schedule, and budget for regular maintenance of all structures and systems on Parish grounds & Duplexes.
Directly performs maintenance and repairs as able.
For maintenance and repairs that cannot be self-performed, solicits, reviews, negotiates, and manages maintenance and service contracts (landscape, IT, technology, rental, etc.)
Keeps inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance up to date
Determines need for permitting by applicable governmental agencies. Coordinates permitting as needed.
Acts as day-to-day point-of-contact for all projects related to capital improvement
Available for campus & duplex maintenance or repair emergencies
Maintains and stores all information related to construction documents and records, records of repairs, and records of regular maintenance and inspections.
Accompanies all contractors while on Parish & Duplex grounds.
On a weekly basis, walks all Parish facilities in order to identify any problems with plant infrastructure, and initiates proposals for its repair/improvement
Coordinates services or maintenance activities with office, events, and/or liturgical calendars as applicable
Provides data and recommendations
