Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Part-Time (hours based on program needs; Monday-Friday 1:00-5:30 PM) St. Columbkille Catholic School is seeking a responsible and nurturing Lead Teacher for our Before and After School Care Program (Crusader Care). The ideal candidate will create a safe, welcoming environment for children in grades Preschool–8, while leading engaging activities that reflect the values of our Catholic school community.Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
* Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and spiritual development
* Provide positive guidance and behavioral support in alignment with school expectations
* Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and fellow team members
* Assist with snacks, indoor/outdoor play, homework help, and clean-up routines
* Support a faith-based, student-centered atmosphere grounded in the mission of St. Columbkille School
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices
* Strong management and supervisory skills in a group setting
* Ability to create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
* Clear and effective communication skills with children, parents, and staff
* Capacity to respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations
* Strong organizational skills, including time management and routine setting
* Commitment to upholding the values and mission of a Catholic school environment
* Flexibility, dependability, and a collaborative mindset
Education and Experience
- Experience working with children.
- Must be Safe Environment certified or be willing to become certified.
- Additional certification hours will be required
