Reports to: Principal/Pastors


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary – Prepare, lead, and organize all liturgical services for St. Pius/St. Leo School
● Organize Mass Readings and Music;
o Share with liturgy assistant, homeroom or religion teacher, and priest if applicable
o Practice, along with liturgy assistant, for upcoming Mass readings and music
o Write petitions and introduction
o Schedule which class is in charge of Masses
o Schedule priests
● Liturgical Music/etc Class
o Teach various aspects of liturgy (liturgical colors, special things about liturgical seasons,
procedures for church)
● Organize and practice for other liturgies
● Accompany for Mass is preferred
● Lead Choir for liturgies
● Support students who would like to play an instrument for Masses
● Work with liturgy assistant as needed or have a working knowledge in the following areas:
● Schedule Communication
● Graduation
o Help 8th Grade Coordinator organize graduation


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications and Education Requirements
● Working knowledge of Liturgy with Children
● Safe-Environment trained
● Experience working with and teaching children
● Music knowledge
● Basic Theology knowledge
Preferred Skills
● Accompanying
● Word, PowerPoint, Excel (or counterparts)
● Working with children to reach their full potential in ministering at liturgies
● Knowledge of grade level appropriate teaching and readings

Education and Experience
Experience working with children in a Catholic setting preferred.
Practicing Catholic required
15-20 hours a week
Masses are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Holy Days and 2-3 all school masses.
