Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church is seeking a skilled pianist to accompany cantors and small ensembles during weekend and Holy Day Masses.

Mass Schedule:

Saturday: 5:00 PM

Sunday: 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 5:00 PM

We are currently seeking a pianist who is available for all four Masses every other weekend OR available for a rotating schedule:

First & Third Weekends: Saturday 5:00 PM and Sunday 9:00 AM

Second & Fourth Weekends: Sunday 11:00 AM and Sunday 5:00 PM

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Provide piano accompaniment at assigned weekend liturgies, supporting the Assembly’s full and active participation.

Coordinate a brief rehearsal with scheduled cantor(s) prior to each Mass.

Be prepared to substitute when needed, if available.

Education and Experience
Proficiency in piano and/or organ, with strong sight-reading ability.

Familiarity with Catholic liturgy, seasons, and sacred music repertoire.

Musical flexibility and ability to adapt to liturgical changes as needed.

Comfort with basic improvisation and crafting cadences to end hymns/songs smoothly.
