Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Creighton Prep is currently accepting applications for a full-time student support position as school counselor beginning on August 1, 2025.

Possible courses, programs, and activities include:
Collaboration with teachers, academic coach, college counselor, learning specialist, mental health practitioner, student support specialist, parents and administration in caring for students.
Work with approximately 200 students across all grade levels in addressing academic, personal, socio-economic, and college planning needs.
Planning and delivering a comprehensive counseling curriculum to students at each grade level.
Coaching or moderating teams, clubs, or other extra-curricular activities.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in counseling or in progress with achieving that degree.
Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with an endorsement in secondary school guidance or the ability to obtain one prior to August 2025.
Preference for counselors who have experience in secondary school counseling and in college counseling.
Experience with and desire to engage in extracurricular activities such as coaching or moderating clubs and activities is highly desirable.
The ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student and parent population.
The ability to collaborate with colleagues, including teachers, counselors and administrators
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Preference for experience with counseling and educational technology, including but not limited to iPads, Scoir, PowerSchool, Canvas and Google Suites.
