Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain a database tracking referrals and services provided by the Student and Family Support (SFS) team.• Oversee the Kiewit Scholarship Program, including transcript collection, check requests, and the End of Year Report.
• Complete the Education Quest Grant application and coordinate 8th-grade college visits.
• Compile and chair the weekly SFS Team meeting agenda.
• Order supplies and manage the SFS office organization.
• Assist in budget management for the Student and Family Support Program in collaboration with the Director.
• Maintain a database of student and alumni data, tracking GPA, high school graduation dates, and contact information.
• Collaborate with the Director and the CUES Fund to organize data for fundraising and marketing efforts.
• Organize and attend the High School and Community Partner Information Event.
• Plan and manage the High School CUES Graduation Party .
• Facilitate referrals to community support programs, including:
o Heart Ministry Center, Lutheran Family Services, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent De Paul, and other non-profits for legal, housing, and transportation support.
• Support the Student Navigator in organizing applications for scholarships and programs.
• Support the Family Navigator in assisting families with FACTS applications.
• Meet individually with families to provide emotional and practical support regarding housing, legal issues, and transportation.
• Administer the CUES Bridge Loan and Empowerment Loan programs, ensuring consistent communication with families and encouraging financial progress.
• Conduct follow-ups with families referred to community support services.
• Assist school principals and office staff in tuition collection, CSF promotion, and document completion.
• Promote the Omaha Bridges Out of Poverty (OBOP) Getting Ahead (GA) class, encourage participation, organize sessions, and provide follow-up support for graduates.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesQualifications and Skills:
• Strong organizational and data management skills.
• Experience working with families and students in a support or advocacy role.
• Knowledge of community resources and the ability to build strong partnerships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management tools.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.
