Principal Duties and Responsibilities

School Counselor for grades Prekindergarten to 8th grade. This position reports to the Principal and provides support to students, staff, and families. The job encompasses building relationships, guiding students, and working with staff towards a successful student career. Duties include classroom instruction, individual and group interaction/discussion, student progress monitoring, student assistance team (SAT) coordination, one-on-one counseling, and parent meetings.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The counselor will provide age-appropriate classroom instruction for each grade and help implement Friendzy as well as other social and emotional programs.
Works with the administrators to address teachers' and parents' concerns about students' development, academic performance, and behavioral issues.

Education and Experience
School counseling certification is required or in pursuit.
A teacher certification is desired but not required.
