Principal Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will perform complex accounting tasks, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities:
• General Accounting:
o Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
o Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
o Reconcile bank & credit card accounts on a monthly basis
• Financial Reporting:
o Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including statements of cash flow
o Analyze financial results and provide insights to management on key variances and trends.
o Reconcile campaign funds with contribution software to ensure proper recording of donations
o Maintain financial records in compliance with auditing standards
• Compliance and Audit:
o Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
o Support external and internal audits, including preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Collaborate with management to develop budgets and forecasts.
o Monitor actual performance against budget, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable:
o Process accounts payable/receivable transactions.
o Ensure timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
• Process Improvement:
o Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
o Assist in system upgrades or software implementation as required.
Requirements

Ability to carry out assignments accurately and with minimal supervision
Education and Experience
At least 5 years experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable and payroll entries
Quickbooks Online, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite
Accounting Associates degree or higher preferred
