Principal Duties and Responsibilities

-Answer telephone calls, regulate building admittance and sign-in and monitor intercom needs in a timely, positive and responsive way.
-Familiar with SIS systems and functions to fulfill needed responsibilities. This may include family and student registration, student records, tuition statements and collection, cafeteria charges, student/family directory, progress reports and report cards.
-Administers prescribed medications, medical protocols, as needed to students. Account for student medications brought into the building and maintain an accurate log of distribution of medications. Provide first aid or other appropriate emergency care for illness or injury to students and staff in accordance with CUES School System policy and procedures, and as directed by the RN. Assist assigned nurse to building with scheduled health screenings.
-Maintains accurate and updated student cumulative folders. Provide required information for transfer of students’ records to other schools.
-Works with staff to distribute student, parent/guardian, and staff communications through phone, email, US mail, intercom, or messenger system.
-Assists with tracking employee and volunteer Safe Environment training and certification.
-Assists with the distribution and collection of forms for the Children’s Scholarship Fund.
-Assists with special projects as required/requested with community partners and organizations.
-Provide monitoring of students as needed.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Creates documents that require use of computer word processing, spreadsheets, letters, rosters, etc. (This may include school newsletters, lunch menus, calendars, fliers, etc.
-Proficient computer knowledge is required to perform basic computer skills, word processing, filing, copying, scanning, etc.
-Detailed-oriented with skills in proofreading materials and data entry to ensure accuracy.
-Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work-related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations.
-Knowledge of the CUES School System Mission Statement and the goals and role of every employee in achieving them.
-Maintains confidentiality of information learned regarding students, their families, staff and situations that develop.
-Follows oral and written directions accurately.
-Ability and patience to work with students and parents/guardians.
-Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to take initiative and work independently.
-Excellent organizational skills.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of business English with the ability to write in complete sentences using appropriate words, correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
-Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Education and Experience
-A GED or higher is required.
-Completion of the Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment training, including a background check.
-Verification of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
-Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
