Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Matthew Catholic school is currently accepting applications for K-6 endorsed teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Our teachers are responsible for providing a quality academic instruction and fostering spiritual development in students. Our K-6 teaching positions involve creating lesson plans, integrating Catholic teachings, fostering academic growth, and supporting students’ spiritual development in a nurturing classroom environment.

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.
Provide engaging and differentiated instruction in subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons and activities.
Facilitate prayer and religious activities to nurture the spiritual growth of students.
Manage classroom activities, transitions, and behavior effectively, fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere.
Assess students' progress through observations, evaluations, and formal assessments.
Effectively observes assigned work hours-maintaining a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the Principal, staff, and public.
Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from an accredited college.
Valid Nebraska teaching certificate; endorsed K-6 grades.
Must complete an archdiocesan background check. (required)
Safe Environment training. (required)
Experience working in a Catholic or faith-based environment is preferred.
