Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Roncalli Catholic High School Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for developing and leading the high school girls soccer program at Roncalli Catholic High School. This individual will provide coaching expertise, mentorship, and guidance to student-athletes, fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The coach should have a passion for soccer, a commitment to player development spiritually, and the ability to instill sportsmanship and teamwork in student-athletes.Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCoaching:
Develop and implement effective practice plans that focus on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
Provide instruction on fundamental soccer techniques and strategies during practices and games.
Motivate and inspire players to perform at their best both individually and as a team.
Player Development:
Conduct assessments of players' skills and abilities to tailor coaching strategies for individual and team improvement.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages player growth, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials.
Game Management:
Plan and execute game strategies to maximize the team's success.
Make informed and timely decisions during games regarding player substitutions, strategy adjustments, and other coaching decisions.
Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school administration, and other stakeholders.
Provide regular updates on team progress, achievements, and any relevant information.
Student-Athlete Academic Support:
Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress, emphasizing the importance of balancing academics and athletics.
Encourage a strong work ethic and discipline both on and off the field.
Support the values of the Catholic Church.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant school, district, and NSAA policies.
Stay informed about current coaching techniques, rules, and regulations related to high school soccer.
Education and Experience
Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or club.
Extensive knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and techniques.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Availability for after-school practices and evening games during the soccer season.
