Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Youth Ministry Director facilitates the discipleship and formation efforts for youth, primarily for grades 7 through 12, and their families. In partnership with other staff members and leaders within the parish, the Youth Ministry Director works to nurture spiritual growth of adolescents on the journey of discipleship.

• Facilitate High School youth group nights throughout the year. These include three 4-6 week series of Community Nights throughout the year run by a team of adult volunteers from the parish. This will include recruiting of teen participants and working with an adult leader team to develop content and implement nights.
• Facilitate the Junior High Youth Group program that occurs once a month during the school year. This will include recruiting and training adult volunteers and high school leaders.
• Coordinate Steubenville Conference trip for all high school students. This includes coordinating the registration process, fundraising, marketing, recruiting adult leaders, and attending the weekend conference with the group.
• Assist with any additional ministry needs as necessary while coordinating with other office personnel. This includes help with coordinating the 8th grade confirmation retreats, speaking at Sacramental prep meetings, communicating service opportunities for teens at the parish, etc.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Be an active, committed, faith-filled and faithful Roman Catholic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities
• Personable and energetic disposition with strong relational skills among various age groups
• Comfortable with public speaking in small and large group settings
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and manage teams
• Aptitude for social media and website tools
• Computer proficiency with standard office applications
• Safe Environment certified or willingness to go through training prior to employment

Education and Experience
• Past experience in ministry leadership
• Bachelor’s Degree
