Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Evangelization: Proclaims the Good News and invites youth into relationship with Jesus Christ through ongoing witness and spiritual formation opportunities for youth, families, and volunteers.

Catechesis: Deepens young people’s understanding of Christ and the Church through faith discovery and reflection with a goal of working towards spiritual maturity and awareness of their vocation.

Community Life: Builds community, not just between young people, but with their families and engaging youth in the broader parish community.

Leadership: Invites, trains, and supports adults, young adults and teens for leadership in youth formation and with the broader parish community.

Prayer/Worship: Helps youth to develop an individual prayer life, experience a variety of communal prayers, retreats, and involves youth in the sacramental life of the Church by working with the Director of Worship and Director of Religious Formation.

Justice/Service: Engages young people in helping and serving other people through direct service and promotes the Gospel call to justice through education and reflection.

Advocacy: Interprets the need of young people, standing up for young people, both as individuals and as a youth community.

Pastoral Care: Establishes networks for counseling and referral as well as provide avenues to prevention programs for youth and families, cares for those in crisis, and provides guidance during times of decisions and moral choices.

Administration: Prepares and develops a budget, maintains communication with high schools and campus ministers, networks with Archdiocesan youth professionals, ensures that all Safe Environment policies are carried out.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Be an active, committed, faith-filled and faithful Roman Catholic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities
• Personable and energetic disposition with strong relational skills among various age groups
• Comfortable with public speaking in small and large group settings
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and manage teams
• Aptitude for social media and website tools
• Computer proficiency with standard office applications
• Safe Environment certified or willingness to go through training prior to employment

Education and Experience
Past experience in ministry leadership
Bachelor’s Degree
