Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Columbkille Catholic School is searching for a full time secretary/office manager to join our school team by June 1, 2024. The school secretary creates a warm and welcoming environment for students, staff, and parents, and provides various levels support to the administration, teachers, staff, and students.

Essential Job Functions:
-Serve as contact person and reference source for staff, students, parents, and the public
-Receive phone calls and emails from parents, staff, and the public requesting information, appointments, and actions
-Maintain student records, including enrollment, attendance, and academic transcripts
-Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry, and basic care of office equipment
-Order, inventory, and manage distribution of classroom supplies, student supplies, textbooks, etc.
-Administer first aid, prescription medications, and evaluate student injuries as needed; complete training modules related to health and safety
-Coordinate office activities and communications regarding school activities, events, and timelines
-Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support the needs of St. Columbkille students and families
-Perform other related duties as assigned


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Qualified applicants will possess a passion for Catholic education and the capacity to exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality
-Knowledge of basic computer operations, Google Drive, Excel, and Microsoft Office
-Able to maintain harmonious, professional, and courteous relationships with administration, teachers, parents, and students
-Able to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently in an active, busy environment
-Able to learn new procedures rapidly
-Able to lift and move light to medium-weight objects such as packages, boxed deliveries, etc.

Education and Experience
-Experience working in a school setting is valued but not required
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
-A clear background check and completion of Safe Environment Training are required
