Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Accelerated Virtual Middle School Math Teacher will provide instruction and management of accelerated math curriculum through virtual instruction coupled with a learning management system (LMS) to students of the Omaha Catholic School Consortium who qualify for accelerated math instruction in 6th, 7th & 8th grade; This position provides virtual instruction and support to a small group of students (about 30-50) students across the six schools of the Omaha Catholic School Consortium: Dual Language Academy, Holy Cross, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Bernadette, St. Thomas More & Sts. Peter & Paul.

The position will be responsible for the preparation grading and instruction of the accelerated math curriculum program through a virtual learning management system (LMS); this will consist of a hybrid delivery instruction (i.e. synchronous and asynchronous instruction) This teacher will be responsible for the management, grading and instruction of the students enrolled in the Consortium’s Math Acceleration program (i.e. 6th, 7th & 8th grade students whose academic performance indicates high achievement that would require accelerated math instruction above their grade level). Additionally, this position will work closely with the Education Director and Principals in the respective schools as well as the students and parents enrolled in the program, which includes the typical responsibilities for a teacher (i.e. grading and parent/teacher conferences, etc), albeit through virtual delivery.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Teaching experience with high school or middle school mathematics; Catholic school teaching experience and/or virtual instruction experience preferred, but not required.

Qualified applicants will need to be able to learn or already possess pre-requisite knowledge of how to deliver instruction through a virtual platform (e.g. videoconference-ing software for delivery of instruction) and a Learning Management System (LMS)

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in math/education or related field, Valid Teacher Certificate, ability to pass a background check and already possess or obtain an Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment Certification.
