Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Omaha Catholic Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher to develop and provide direct services as related to students’ IEP goal and objectives.

Contracted position with state approved hourly rate of $62.00 an hour. Hours are flexible with 15-20 hours a week with potential of working toward full time, if desired.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Develop and implement annual Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students

-Schedule IEP meetings with team members

-Collect data for on-going progress monitoring

-Apply research-based learning strategies and interventions to support student’s IEP and progress

-Manage a safe and effective learning environment

-Collaborate and consult with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student’s learning outcomes

Education and Experience
-Must hold a valid K-6 or K-12 special education license in the state of Nebraska

-Subject to a Background Check

-Have a strong knowledge base to deliver individualized instructional and educational services

-Have an understanding of the processes and procedures of providing Special Education services

-Ability to effectively analyze student needs and problem solve

-Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, teachers and administration
