Principal Duties and Responsibilities

You’ll join a mission-driven team dedicated to empowering human dignity. Each year, 300,000 people turn to Catholic Charities of Omaha. For a century, we’ve provided food for the hungry, safety to the endangered, and support to the suffering. Though our Catholic Faith guides our work, you do not have to be Catholic to join our team or receive services from Catholic Charities.

As a member of the Catholic Charities Microbusiness & Asset Development team, you’ll get to:

Help people transcend poverty through entrepreneurship.
Educate and assist clients in becoming successful entrepreneurs by providing classroom training, workshops, and seminars either in-person and/or virtually.
Provide one-on-one consultations assisting clients to develop business plans, registering/renewing their businesses, and answering any other questions they may have.
Assist the Director and Manager, Microbusiness & Asset Development in establishing and maintaining partnerships with other community organizations, businesses, and volunteers to ensure the success of the program.

-Microbusiness Program Marketing Lab: Connect Entrepreneurs with Tools to Grow their Businesses
-Administrative Support: Help the Microbusiness Program Work Efficiently & Effectively


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Must be fluent in English.
-Fluency in a secondary language (Spanish) REQUIRED.
-Understanding of diverse cultures with sensitivity to all low-income persons and other disadvantaged persons with multi-cultural backgrounds.
-Good verbal and written communication and adult teaching skills.
-Computer proficiency including MS word, excel, power point, outlook. Graphic Design Programs knowledge would be a plus.
-Up-to-date working knowledge of small business management and self-employment issues, including requirements at the local, state and federal level.
-Ability to function as an active, collaborative team member.
-Knowledge of Catholic Charities’ mission, values, vision, and ethical standards.

Knowledge of the Catholic Charities Compliance Program requirements including – but not limited to – the Code of Ethics, the Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance procedures affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
