Principal Duties and Responsibilities
St. Margaret Mary Parish is looking for a person who is excited to join our faith-filled school and parish community. The Business Manager position is designed for a well-organized professional to join our spirit-filled and dynamic staff and execute daily parish accounting and finance-related functions at the direction of the pastor.Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPrimary Job Duties:
● Advise the pastor as requested
● Supervise financial and clerical personnel, facilitating the monthly bill payment process
● Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports & information
● Establish and oversee parish internal controls and financial due diligence
● Prepare/facilitate the preparation of the annual budget
● Work with all departments for the planning of fundraising projects and use of funds
● Perform/manage the necessary HR requirements of the parish and archdiocese including payroll
● Assist the Pastor and School Principal each year with employment contracts
● Manage the negotiation and preparation of vendor contracts as needed
● Consult and advise parish leadership in the acceptance of project bids
● Be present to advise parish committees as requested by the pastor
● Attend the annual parish festival to manage raffle and cash
● Manage FACTS Grant Aid and Assessment Applications.
● Assist school parents with Tuition and Fees Inquiries for St. Margaret Mary School
Knowledge & Skills:
● Knowledge of St. Margaret Mary’s mission and Roman Catholic teachings
● Sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
● Comprehensive knowledge of payroll-related tax issues and accounts payable
● Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to act in a courteous and professional manner
● Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
● Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and have an eye for detail and accuracy
● A proven record of working cooperatively and being adaptable as part of a team
● Ability to maintain confidentiality
● Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and database software.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience:
● Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive and relevant accounting/financial work
● College coursework/degree
● Safe Environment training & background check required
