Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students
• Schedule IEP meetings with team members
• Collect data for on-going progress monitoring
• Apply research-based learning strategies and interventions to support students’ IEPs and progress
• Manage a safe and effective learning environment
• Collaborate and consult with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ learning outcomes


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Have a strong knowledge base to deliver individualized instruction and educational services
• Have an understanding of the processes and procedures of providing special education services
• Ability to effectively analyze student needs and problem solve to create appropriate plans
• Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, teachers, and administrators

Education and Experience
• Must hold a valid 7-12 or K-12 special education license in the state of Nebraska
• Minimum of 3 years experience teaching special education
