Reports to: PrincipalPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities
The Technology/Stem teacher will plan, teach and assess STEM classes for students in Preschool through 8th grade. The teacher will be responsible for Integrated STEM curriculum and programming that meets NGSS and Archdiocese of Omaha standards. Additionally, plannied STEM lessons/activities will incorporate CSTA, ISTE, Archdiocesan math and ELA standards. A technology background in tools such as Google for Education, ipads/chromebooks, knowledge of programming tools for students, 3D printing, microbits, VEX robotics - 123 & Go is preferred.Candidates should have familiarity with and/or certification with PLTW (Project Lead the Way) or willingness to be trained/certified.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities● Plans and implements effective lessons to meet grade level NGSS and Archdiocesan science, math and ELA standards.
●Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate research-based instructional strategies and interventions to improve STEM achievement for students in grades K-8.
● Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM events/activities
● Works collaboratively with teachers by providing expert advice on improving and enhancing lessons based on ongoing analysis.
● Eagerness to attend professional development related to STEM programs and methodologies.
●Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Education and Experience
●NE Teacher Certification
●Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Education
●Safe Environment Certified
