POSITION TITLE: School Network Administrator I

REPORTS TO: Manager of Educational IT

CLASSIFICATION: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

POSITION SUMMARY
Supports multiple servers and Client workstations. This individual will be responsible for TCP/IP administration, traffic and protocol monitoring, Active Directory, Google for Education, and Office 365 Education administration. Additionally, the Network Administrator is responsible for supporting end users and resolution of issues.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Configure, manage, and deploy servers, workstations, tablets, laptops, and chrome books.
• Maintain mobile labs.
• Conduct professional development sessions as needed.
• Coordinate IT-related needs and services with school staff and administration.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
• Provide end user support to local and remote end users.
• Monitor and utilize ticket system for support and maintenance tracking.
• Manager projector and conferencing solutions.
• Maintain Windows users and groups.
• Manage network infrastructure.
• Manage Windows, Samba, CUPS servers.
• Manage wireless systems.
• Plan and configure Windows Group Policies and VB login scripts.
• Perform security checks and audits.
• Antivirus & Antispyware client and server administration.
• Phone and voicemail system administration.
• Maintain vSphere environment.
• Maintain various models of printers.
• Manage and maintain firewalls.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Produces complete and high-quality work that is organized and understandable.
• Knowledge of circuit boards, server equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Strong understanding of Windows Networking, TCP/IP, and Firewalls.
• Prior experience with or an ability to learn:
o Microsoft Windows Server
o ChromeOS, iOS, Linus, and Windows (Any currently supported by manufacturer)
o FortiOS
o vSphere
o AppleTV / Chromecast
o Google for Education
o Office 365 Education
o RIP and Static Routing
o Level 2, 3, 4 QoS on switches and routers
o Microsoft Group Policy, Active Directory, and related functionality
o Symantec Endpoint Security, Malware Bytes and Carbon Black
o Aruba, Cisco, and Ubiquiti AP

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings of the Church.
• Minimum 2 years' helpdesk or end user support and troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in systems administration, network design implementation, and testing preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience administering Windows 2000 or above Active Directory with login scripting and Group Policies preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, or Computer Science OR related associate degree preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Employee will be expected to work normal office hours.
• Maintenance functions are performed after normal working hours.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Regular travel between Omaha school locations required. Occasional rural travel required.
