Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The “Freedom Choir” at the 10:30 Mass at Sacred Heart is known for its upbeat, joyful style. The choir has a compliment of band members including drum set, bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, and sometimes clarinet/saxophone.

The responsibilities of the Choir Director include maintaining the upbeat style while enhancing the spiritual component of the choir, all for the glory and honor of God. The Choir Director is responsible for conducting rehearsals, introducing new music, and empowering the choir to enhance their individual skills as well as the collective sound. The Choir Director is also responsible for making sure that all licensing requirements are followed.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the Roman Catholic liturgy
- Musical talent
- Leadership abilities

Education and Experience
A degree in music or liturgy is not required. However, experience leading others is essential.
