Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Christ Child Society of Omaha seeks a detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. Become an ambassador for Christ Child alongside a team of committed volunteers working flexible hours from your home! This Administrative Assistant is a contracted worker, who reports to the Program and Development Director and provides general administrative support, including:
· Oversee correspondence and phone calls immediately and professionally
· Maintain organizational records and files, including donor database
· Assist with donor communications, including appeals, thank you letters, and bulk mailings
· Serve as primary point of contact for memorial gifts, supporting families with donor lists
· Prepare for Board of Directors meetings by sending meeting notices, printing agendas, minutes, and other documents
· Work with the Board Treasurer and bookkeeper as directed
· Provide general administrative support for special events, layette assemblies, committees and volunteers
· Promote events and news on social media and Christ Child website
· Support Auxiliary goals for growth and community outreach
· Actively seek the best possible merchandise for newborns in need at the lowest prices
· Assist with maintaining layette inventory at the Christ Child Center
· Assist with management of Christ Child Center, supplies, and access for deliveries and meetings
· Build relationships with the agencies, doctors’ offices and schools that receive layettes, and look for new partnerships


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing (Excel, Word)
· Social media skills, including Facebook & Instagram
· Willing to attend zoom training with Firespring to learn how to keep our website up-to-date.
· Strong attention to detail
· Solid written and oral communication skills and excellent phone manner
· Ability to organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines
· Interest in and commitment to Christ Child mission is helpful.

Education and Experience
High School diploma required; College education preferred
Experience working for or volunteering with non-profits is helpful.
Experience coordinating small events such as receptions and open houses is helpful.

The Christ Child Society brings Christ’s love to communities through layettes and support of programs that serve children and families in need. The Omaha chapter of this vital, volunteer-led non-profit currently focuses on providing bags full of baby necessities (layettes) for young mothers, as well as offering significant educational scholarships to empower and change the future for those who are eligible to receive the layettes.
