The Temporary Event Coordinator supports the Evangelization & Family Life Office (EFLO) in planning and implementing programs and events. Primary focus areas are sacrament preparation (primarily marriage), the annual Archdiocesan marriage celebration and youth ministry summer events. They also will provide various materials to schools and parishes.

• Meet with the Associate Director to determine the scope and timetable for projects.
• Collaborate with Associate Director and other EFLO staff regarding projects and events.
• Keep a log of work performed and provide regular updates to the Associate Director.
• Perform virtual and on-site preparation, set-up/clean-up, and coordination of events.
• Effectively communicate in-person, on the phone, and through mail and email to those within EFLO and the general public.
• Help document and maintain records and databases in keeping with EFLO and Archdiocesan standards, particularly those related to sacraments.

• Committed to ongoing training and professional development.
• Firsthand knowledge of the Catholic Church is required, particularly related to teachings on the family, the domestic church, and lay ministry.
• Dedicated to building and promoting a culture of life from conception until natural death.
• Shares helpful and appropriate knowledge and information with others and contributes to team efforts.
• Positively and accurately represents the department and the Archdiocese; responds to information requests promptly.
• Proficient computer skills and an ability to learn software relevant to job duties (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite/Teams, C-Vent, Formstack, Zoom).
• Sound decision-making skills; inspires others' involvement in problem-solving and implementing solutions.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to establish strong, positive interpersonal relationships with a wide range of people, understanding the need for confidentiality and attention to business ethics.

• Background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church with a demonstrated commitment to its mission and teachings.
• Event coordination experience preferred.

• Routine office environment; ADA-accessible building.
• Requires sitting for a majority of work hours, typing and other repetitive movements.
• Maintains regular office hours with the flexibility to work some weekends and evenings.

• 10% - parish visits with other EFLO staff members and event travel, including occasional weekends and evenings.
