Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term marketing and communication vision for Mercy’s brand which promotes its unique position in the marketplace. Responsibilities include:

•Planning, developing, and implementing all marketing strategies - both internal and external communications.
•Manage the strategic and creative design of Mercy marketing and communications activities and materials;
admissions/enrollment; website, social media, video production; alumnae relations; institutional advancement; media
relations; & President's Office.
•Coordinate media interest in the school and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to
media requests.
•Manage the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
•Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all publications, including The Mercian (bi-
•Develop and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist various departments in the
marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Self-Starter; Detail oriented.
Website-principles of design, graphics, composition, copywriting, & editing.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
Ability to learn various computer applications.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from accredited four-year college preferred, ideally in journalism, communication, graphic design or marketing, and or three to five years related experience.
