POSITION SUMMARY
The Housekeeper works as part of a team to perform regular cleaning and deep cleaning of the archdiocesan central offices, buildings, and homes. The Housekeeper is also responsible for reporting maintenance issues to the Facilities Manager. This person should be a role model for ethical behavior and promotes a work environment of respect and dignity of the human person that is consistent with the Mission of the Archdiocese of Omaha.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete indoor custodial duties to keep facilities in clean and orderly condition, including cleaning, windows, dusting, floor buffing, stripping, carpet care, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Provide excellent customer service to all Archdiocesan buildings and homes.
• Daily cleaning and heavy/deep cleaning.
• Gather, empty, and clean trash/recycling receptacles.
• Daily inventory management of supplies, including ordering.
• Follows all safety practices and procedures with chemicals and power equipment.
• Maintain professional appearance and reliable attendance.
• Monitor building security and ensure personal safety by securing and locking all facilities while at work and upon exit.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Self-directed and ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping functions, chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
• Skilled in inventory management of day-to-day housekeeping supplies.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Customer focus to respond to customer issues and special requests.
• Adaptable and flexible in responding to day-to-day work requirements.
• Basic computer skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings of the Church.
• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Scheduled hours may include evenings and weekends.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
• Regular travel to archdiocesan locations throughout the Omaha area
