Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for invoice processing utilizing the Blackbaud Financial system and the successful payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures that invoices are accurate, that proper procedures are being followed in relation to purchases and approval has been made by the appropriate personnel. The Work Study Manager collects work study applications and reports activity to the Director of Tuition Assistance, assigns jobs each semester to all students within the structured schedule, and collaborates with Dean of Discipline for changes during each semester. • Processes all invoices
• Verifies approval of purchases and proper check request completion
• Processes all payments to vendors
• Opens and distributes daily mail
• Excellent communication with co-workers, expense managers, students and vendors
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Proficient computer skills with knowledge/experience in accounting software
• High aptitude with numbers and money
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Excellent organizational skills; efficient in management of time
• A professional attitude and relational skills toward co-workers, students and parents; confidentiality essential
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two to three years’ experience in accounts payables preferred
• Utilization of an accounting software system, with experience using Blackbaud Financial Accounting for Nonprofits a plus
